each depicting a caged bird and a covered birdcage within chinoiserie fretwork, the colors unusually well preserved, now in modern frames. These are rare unused sheets of English wallpaper. They are etched then painted with watercolors. Some sheets bear the wallpaper Duty Stamp on the back, the number 3 identifying the excise officer. The duty was 1 1/2d per sheet. 18th Century.
